Well Done! When you complete today’s activity you will have reached the end of the 7-day challenge!
Today’s Challenge:
Let go of comparison and embrace your unique path and journey towards abundance.
Challenge yourself to step away from social media or anything else that makes it easy for you to compare yourself to others. Comparison is the thief of joy, and if you’re too busy comparing yourself to someone else’s success, you will struggle to feel an abundance mindset.
My Comments: What a needed reminder! Comparison often leads to feelings of inadequacy and scarcity. Like when you go on Facebook and you feel like the ugly duckling compared to all those willowy beauties posting pics and videos, or when you go on LinkedIn and you feel like the world’s biggest poser because everyone else appears to be so much more together than you! Keep in mind: those people have feet of clay just like you do. They have their bad hair days, bouts of imposter syndrome, and projects that don’t work out as planned, just the same as you and me.
[Begin rant] I’m going to make a bold suggestion here. (Prepare to gasp.) If being on social media or mesenger or wherever you go makes you feel inadequate or insufficient in ANY way…TURN IT OFF! Put down the phone, walk away from your laptop or tablet, close Facebook and X and Insta and TikTok. Turn off the television. (What?) I promise you, within 15 minutes you will start to feel better about yourself. Reconnect with the real people in your life. If they don’t make you feel wonderful, find some new people who do! Read a book. Spend some time on a favorite hobby. Write in your journal. Add to your Vision Board. And I’ll make you another promise. Nothing is going to happen while you’re away that you can’t deal with even better when you log back on. Better because you will be approaching it from a fresh, positive mindset–a position of strength. [End of rant]
Remember, everyone’s journey is unique, and comparing yourself to others only distracts you from your own path. Focus on your progress and celebrate your achievements. Today, let go of comparison and embrace your unique journey towards abundance.
Suggested Actions:
- Limit Social Media Use: Take a break from social media or unfollow accounts that make you feel inadequate or trigger comparisons.
- Celebrate Your Journey: Reflect on your personal achievements and milestones. Celebrate how far you’ve come.
- Practice Self-Compassion: Remind yourself that your journey is unique and that you are exactly where you need to be at this time. Treat yourself with kindness and understanding.
Extra Credit:
Be patient and persistent, recognizing that building an abundance mindset is a lifelong practice that requires dedication and consistent effort.
An abundance mindset will not grow overnight. It takes time, patience, and practice to develop. Today, challenge yourself to take it easy. Re-practice one of the previous challenges and give yourself a break–this is a lifelong journey, and rest is crucial for success.
My Comments: Building an abundance mindset is a continuous journey that requires patience and persistence. There will be ups and downs, but the key is to stay committed and keep moving forward. Give yourself grace and acknowledge your progress. That’s why keeping a journal is important. Today, revisit one of the previous challenges that resonated with you and practice it again. Remember, every step you take brings you closer to the life of abundance you desire.
Suggested Actions:
1. Revisit a Favorite Challenge: Choose one of the previous challenges that had a significant impact on you and practice it again today.
2. Set Long-Term Goals: Establish long-term (SMART=Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals for maintaining and growing your abundance mindset. Break them down into manageable steps. To help you with this, I’ve created a full year-long Planner so that you can schedule your success in advance. Click Here to learn more.
3. Practice Self-Reflection: Regularly reflect on your journey, celebrating your progress and identifying areas for continued growth.

I could not agree more with this. While social media has its place, it’s so important not to get too caught up in it, for many reasons, not the least of which is the comparison-itis it can elicit.
